FITNESS


Some of the most popular fitness trends in 2011 have been Zumba and the p90x workout.


P90X


P90x or Power 90 Extreme is a home exercise system that helps you achieve overall fitness in ninety days. The p90x program is a twelve DVD program that runs for thirteen weeks, exercising six days a week. Most of the workouts are less than an hour, but three times a week there is an added abdominal workout which adds about fifteen minutes to your workout time. The exercises include a variety of strength training, cardio, yoga, plyometrics and stretching.


The p90x program also includes a nutrition plan. The nutrition plan consists of three different phases of protein and carbohydrate intake. Each phase lasts thirty days. Also included in the p90x program is a fitness guide, a calender, online support and supplement options. 


The p90x program is designed to transform your body from regular to ripped in ninety days. The p90x program is said to be very intensive. If you are looking for something a little easier then try the Power 90 program.


ZUMBA


Zumba was created by a dancer and choreographer. Zumba exercises and music combine styles such as salsa, samba, hip-hop, Bollywood and belly dance. Just about every fitness centre now has Zumba instructors running Zumba classes. If you would rather Zumba in the privacy of your own home, there is a great selection of DVDs available. There is also a Zumba video game available for Xbox, play station and Wii.  Zumba is an exercise in disguise.


WEIGHT LOSS


There is a massive amount of weight loss products and services on the market that promise to make weight loss quicker and easier. Everything from DVDs, lotions, potions and pills. Then there is the fitness centers, weight loss groups, supplements and food and drink products. Billions are spent every year on weight loss products and services every year.


WEIGHT WATCHERS


One of the most popular and successful weight loss groups is Weight Watchers.  Weight Watchers began back in 1963 and now operates worldwide in approximately thirty different countries. Weight Watchers helps people form healthy, smarter eating habits, exercise more, and offers on going support.


Weight Watchers has two types of programs, a one on one in person program and an online program. The program basically works on a points system where foods are given certain points and you limit your food intake to the daily maximum quota allowed. Once your goal weight is achieved you then convert to a maintenance program. 


You can access heaps of Weight Watchers recipes online, giving you detailed information on the points, calories, fat, protein etc. So even without joining the Weight Watchers program you can use their recipes to assist in your weight loss.  You can even find point values for many fast food restaurant chains.


PILLS AND POTIONS


With hundreds of weight loss pills on the market that promise to make weight loss quicker and easier, it may be tempting to look for a quick fix solution to weight loss. A couple that appear to have hit the popularity list in 2011 are Zantrex and White Bean Extract or sometimes referred to as White Bean Kidney Extract. as with most diet pills there are side effects to consider as well as any existing medical conditions.  It is strongly suggested that you consult a medical professional before taking any such pills.


Remember, the best, most natural way to approach weight loss is to adjust your eating habits and increase your physical activity. Doing these two things alone on a consistent basis will soon become a habit, help you achieve your ideal weight and then maintain it.  It is in a nutshell a lifestyle choice.
