MasterChef Australia
The television cooking game show MasterChef started in 1990 on BBC. The show has now expanded to 27 countries but the same MasterChef logo is used around the world.
MasterChef Australia begins with a large number of contestants who audition by presenting a dish to the three judges in hope of winning a spot in the 50 semi-final places. Semi-finalists then compete in several challenges and eliminations until there are 24 finalists.
These 24 finalists then progress to individual and team challenges. Weekly eliminations are carried out until the last Chef standing is then deemed the winning MasterChef.
MasterChef Australia is aired six nights a week from Sunday to Friday with a different format to the show each night.
Sunday night is Challenge night, Monday is the Pressure Test, Tuesday is the Immunity Challenge night, Wednesday is Team Challenge night, Thursday is Elimination night and Friday is MasterClass, my favourite night. No tests, no pressure, just sit back, enjoy and learn.
The first season of MasterChef Australia began in 2009. The winner was an I.T office manager Julie Goodwin. 2010 winner was a lawyer Adam Liaw, and in 2011 the winner was Kate Bracks.
On average two million Australians have tuned into MasterChef Australia six nights a week and another four million watch from time to time. 5.74 million viewers watched the season finale last year.
The success of the series has led to an increase in demand in various industries from cooking schools, kitchenware retailers, upmarket restaurants, supermarkets and speciality food retailers.
MasterChef Australia won the 2010 Logie Award for the Most Popular Reality Program and Matt Preston won the Graham Kennedy award for Most Outstanding New Talent.
There are several MasterChef publications available as well as the MasterChef website where you can get the latest news as well as all the fantastic recipes.

Occupy Wall Street / Citibank Arrests
Occupy Wall Street / Citibank Arrests
Occupy Melbourne now in its sixth day of protesting have been told to move on. They had till 9am this morning to remove themselves or police will be called in. Protesters are saying, "they're not going anywhere".
While the Melbourne protest has been incident free in comparison to the protests in other countries where there has been cars torched, scuffles with police and numerous arrests, the mood in Melbourne may very well change today once police become involved.
Occupy Wall Street is an ongoing protest that began on September 17 in New York City.
By October 9, protests were being held in 70 major cities in the US and in over 900 cities worldwide.
They are mainly protesting about social and economic inequality and corporate greed and influence, particularly from the financial service sector.
Several people were arrested when they took the protest into a Citibank branch and tried to close their Citibank accounts.
Citibank made a statement regarding the incident which they later had to modify as it was untrue. Numerous videos that were aired to the public that clearly showed that Citibank were not being entirely honest with their initial statement and that it was incorrect.
Protesters tried to leave when asked but the doors were closed and locked well before the police arrived. Bank security locked the doors , not the police.
People should be allowed to close their accounts at anytime they wish regardless of other circumstances.
SHAME ON YOU CITIBANK!
